In a symbolic and iconic way, both figures face the viewer, although they are normally facing each other. Mary's consent to Gabriel's proposal results in the conception of Jesus by the Holy Spirit. This conception begins the final salvation plan culminating in the painted scene on the right. Where the Archangel Michael is shown, conquering hell. In his right hand he holds the sword that kills the beast, in his left hand he holds the redeemed Earth. There is Satan in Hell holding Judas the way Mary held Jesus. He wants to prove something to the end, he wants to look like someone else, Judas, when Judas is holding his hand on the purse. The whole story has an apocalyptic dimension, where the heavenly powers have been shaken, where the planets in the form of fiery tarpaulins make their final dance. Standing under this arch you can experience how the Archangels and this beautiful history of salvation lean over the viewer.
